Dzięki dotacji unijnego Programu Erasmus Plus realizujemy 12 miesięczne projekty Europejskiego Korpusu Solidarności (wcześniej Europejskiego Wolontariatu EVS). W ramach tego projektu wolontariusze z Włoch, Francji, Hiszpanii, Wielkiej Brytanii i Portugalii będą przez 12 miesięcy pracować nieodpłatnie w naszym klubie oraz Centrum Kultury Dworek Białoprądnicki, Klubie Kultury Mydlniki, Szkole Podstawowej nr 48 na Bielanach, Zespole Szkół Ogólnokształcących nr 18 na Salwatorze i Maltańskim Centrum Pomocy Niepełnosprawnym Dzieciom. Projekt jest koordynowany przez Centrum Kultury Dworek Białoprądnicki.
Kilka słów od tegorocznego wolontariusza:
Hi! My name is Matteo and I’m an EVS volunteer at Klub Kultury Wola as part of the IntegrART project. I’ll tell you first what’s going on here and then what I’ve been doing since I’ve arrived.
Klub Kultury Wola is a cosy cultural club in the outskirts of Krakow. It’s quite close to the Stare Miasto (the historical centre of Krakow), it takes more or less 15 minutes of bus to get here from the centre. Together with other cultural clubs around the city, it’s part of Dworek Białoprądnicki, a public cultural institution of the city of Krakow. Wola is located in the Zwierzyniec district, a pretty and really green neighbourhood. Close to it there is a really cool park and a kopiec, which is to say, one of the four old mounds that you can find around Krakow.
Klub Kultury Wola organises many activities for people of all ages, like music (singing, piano, drums, sax, and more), dance and art classes (painting, ceramic, printing, etc.), plus some concerts and other educational events. It has many rooms with a lot of materials and space available. So, if you like any of these things, you’ll find everything you need to help or get something of your own started.
This brings us to what I have done and what I have found here. I very soon acclimatised myself to this place, as everyone, both the people who work here and those who come here for the classes, is really friendly and it feels like home very quickly. The best thing to do is that it allows you to put your own skills at use. Apart from helping with the organisation of what is already happening here, which is to say, taking pictures of events, managing social medias and creating posters and banner, I have been able to open an Italian language class and introduce, when there was the opportunity to do so, my country to others. For example, in January, for the school winter break, a lot of young people have come to Wola and I have had the possibility of organising workshops about my country and even involve volunteers from Krakow in order to make activities about other nationalities. Moreover, in the next months, I will take part in events about history, which is a passion of mine, plus hopefully start a series of jazz concerts of Wola. Of course, you don’t have to do exactly these things. However, just know that, whatever your passion is, you’ll probably find a way of putting it to practice in Wola.
In the end, I believe that the real purpose of this volunteering is to bring something about you, your country and Europe to this place. If you’ll find a way to do so, then you’ll have succeeded. Wola is a place that makes it rather easy and pleasant to do so.
