A tu kilka słów od naszej wolontariuszki:
Hello! My name is Meret Knapp and I am 18 years old. I am from Stuttgart, Germany and am part of the European Solidarity Corps in the IntegrART project. I will be part of the team working in Klub Kultury Wola and am going to offer workshops and courses on my own.
In 2016 I spend a year in Tauranga, New Zealand going to school there, travelling around and getting to know a new culture and people. There I first got into different kinds of arts, making a photography blog about my time there and having my classes with the focus on art. Also my High school diploma, the German Abitur, which I received in July 2019, was with a focus on Art.
Outside of school I was part in political discussion rounds, the city youth council, I worked with refugee children, I was part in Art projects and workshops and went swimming. After doing an internship in a photographers and graphic designers office, I helped her build a website on analog cameras by testing and repairing them. I also worked at a cheese shop on the farmers market.
For me it was clear, that I didn’t want to start studying right away, but get some life experience before. It was also clear, that I wanted/ want to go abroad to do so, to learn a new language, get to know myself better and experience a new country. I have known about the ESC for a long time, but after researching other opportunities I decided that a long term volunteering with the European Youth Portal was the right thing for me. I applied in Krakow, as I found the IntegrART project to be very interesting and because I have never worked in a cultural institution before but have profited from them my whole life. So I was very happy to be accepted and able to become part of this small but blooming institution and even happier to be part of this project, the Krakow life style but mostly of this team.
If you want to know more about me, Germany or talk about any other subject, come by and I will do my best to answer the questions.
